What is BMP?

The BASS Mentorship Program (BMP) connects senior student leaders with incoming first-year students to help them navigate university life, explore Beedie community opportunities, and build lasting connections. This mentorship program pairs mentees with mentors at a two-to-one ratio, fostering personal and professional growth in a supportive environment over four months. Through practical advice and personal experiences, mentors empower mentees to make informed decisions during their time at the Beedie School of Business.

  • First Event: First Steps

    The first chance mentees have to meet their mentor and build relationships with other first-year students and senior Beedie students through fun activities and a cheer-off between the 5 houses.

  • Second Event: Mentor Swap

    A one-day event where mentees will have a chance to expand their network by meeting other senior mentors and learning about their experiences in the Beedie community through a rotational system.

  • Third Event: Pitch Off

    A capstone event where mentees have the opportunity to practice and perfect an elevator pitch for themselves, and is often the first “formal networking” event for most mentees. They will receive useful feedback from industry professionals in a safe space.

  • Final Event: Celebratory Dinner | "Next Steps"

    A celebratory awards dinner that recognizes the achievements of the mentees throughout their first semester in Beedie.
